Arvind Kejriwal  was born on 16 August 1968 in Bhiwani, Haryana, to a well-educated couple, Gobind Ram Kejriwal and Gita Devi. Arvind Kejriwal has a younger brother and a younger sister. He is a Social Activist turned Politician, who has been the Chief Minister of Delhi since 2015. He is the seventh Chief Minister of Delhi, a union territory as well the capital of India. But, there are other things as well, rather other qualities of Arvind Kejriwal which have made him so popular. This is something which should surely be of interest to the students as the lives of the leaders are an inspiration for the youth of today.

Born in an educated family, Kejriwal is the eldest child to his parents. He is a mechanical engineer from IIT Kharagpur and he gave up his job at Tata steel in order to prepare for the Civil services examination.One of the major criticisms directed at the Jan Lokpal activists was that they had no right to dictate terms to the elected representatives. As a result, Kejriwal and other activists decided to enter politics and contest elections. In November 2012, they formally launched the Aam Aadmi Party; Kejriwal was elected as the party's National Convener. The party name reflects the phrase Aam Aadmi, or "common man", whose interests Kejriwal proposed to represent.The establishment of AAP caused a rift between Kejriwal and Hazare. AAP decided to contest the 2013 Delhi Legislative Assembly election, with Kejriwal contesting against the incumbent Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. Kejriwal became the fifth most-mentioned Indian politician on social media channels in the run-up to the elections.

Kejriwal is married to Sunita, his batch mate from the National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie. She is an IRS officer. They have two children - a daughter Harshita and a son Pulkit. Arvind Kejriwal is a pure vegetarian and has been a regular practitioner of Vipassana.
